At the request of collectors, enthusiasts or amateurs, whether they are interested in new productions or old, rare or sometimes untraceable models, it was necessary to create a collaborative platform to allow everyone to catalog, list and share his own collections. For this purpose, Miniatoys.net was created to allow you to share your collector’s passion. www.miniatoys.net is a participatory tool, a freely accessible website and a platform made by you and for you. We invite you to contribute to the development of the largest database of scale models, by sharing your collection of miniature vehicles, model railways, slot racing and publications on these themes.
We hope that this ambitious project will become a true source of quality information, an essential resource for all collectors or anyone else wishing to research a miniature, a specific model, a manufacturer or a collectible brand.

Everyone is free to publish online a file corresponding to a specific model that he owns, provided that the information is as accurate as possible and comply with the rules for creating model entries.
The description, the characteristics and the photos of these entries are modifiable by each registered member in order to propose the most complete and precise possible model model entry.
Carefully read the following sections that will help you, for example, to create article or a model entry, modify an existing form or insert an image. Do not hesitate to ask a question if you need help for these first steps.

To add a entry it is necessary to register on the site.
Check beforehand that the entry doesn’t already exist on the database.
Click on the link "Add an item" then choose the desired category and possibly a secondary category (for example the main category is 'car' and the secondary category 'military'). Complete each sheet of your models by completing the descriptive fields, add your own photos and validate.
On each entry an orange button "edit" is visible after connection. This button allows you to edit the form. It is possible to modify the characteristics of the model, its description and to modify (or add) one or more photos.

Add your own photos in the ideal size of 25 cm wide and 22 cm high maximum.
The maximum size accepted for a photo is 3 MB, however a size of 200 KB with a resolution of 72 pixels / inch is ample for a display on a web page.
To reduce the weight of your photos, you can use online tools such as shrinkpictures or resize .

Before uploading to the site, name your image explicitly with the model title and possibly the manufacturer, followed by the extension of the file (.jpg, .png), without uppercase and using the dash (-) as word separator. Exemple :  dinky-toys-481-bedford-ovaltine-blue.jpg
You can add up to 3 photos per entry (model). 
Make your photos crisp, on average resolution and take your shots at eye level.
Prefer neutral, clear and plain backgrounds (plain colored tissue, plain white background).
Favor natural and indirect light, soft and diffuse avoiding flash and backlight.
Show your object in full with as much detail as possible, possibly with the box and accessories.
Macro mode allows you to take photos in close mode. Approach your object a few inches and take your picture without a flash.
Your photo should illustrate as clearly as possible the published article or template. Once published, it is possible to modify your own photos, to add but also to modify the picture or photos of another sheet published by another member, on the sole condition that you replace the already published picture with a other photo that you consider visually better.

The website www.miniatoys.net publishes and makes available to the public information and photos of models published by the authors of the article sheets. Each editor is responsible for his contributions, texts and photos and all images belong to their respective authors.

You find, in the top right, a drop-down menu "My Profile" in which you find the specific information about your profile, with your personal information that you can change or complete at any time. You can add your avatar (an image of your choice) and photos from your own collection.
You will also find "My items" the list of models you have listed to the site, "My Wishlists" with the models you would like to have, and "My Collection" a list of models that you already have in your collection.
